About the board

An independent board, working since 2016.

ITSB is an independent examination and standards body based in Oxford, United Kingdom. We assess and certify teachers, tutors and other educators against consistent, applied standards — and maintain the public register against which any certificate can be verified.

Our work is to help the most capable teachers be recognised, and to help the students and schools who need them find teaching they can trust.
